Bakhtiari Blasts Packers After Signing with Dolphins, Urges Jaire Alexander to Leave

Miami, FL – April 27, 2025
In a jaw-dropping twist, former Green Bay Packers All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari unloaded a scathing attack on his old team after signing a one-year, $9.5 million deal with the Miami Dolphins, sources told ESPN Saturday.

And in a move that’s shaking the foundations of Green Bay, Bakhtiari didn’t just burn bridges —
he detonated them.

The Fallout with Green Bay

Bakhtiari, a longtime cornerstone of the Packers’ offensive line, was cut in March 2025 after years of battling injuries — a move aimed at saving cap space amid Green Bay’s youth movement.

But according to Bakhtiari, the breakup was anything but clean.

“It wasn’t about the knee. It was about respect — and Green Bay forgot what that means,” Bakhtiari told WQAM Sports Radio.

He slammed Packers GM Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur for what he called “gutless leadership” and “short-sighted vision,” accusing them of discarding veterans without loyalty or plan.

A Direct Shot at Packers Culture

In his fiery interview, Bakhtiari painted a picture of a fractured locker room, where younger players were celebrated while proven leaders were pushed aside.

“You don’t build championships by treating your pillars like rental cars,” he said.

He cited moves like letting Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams walk — and now his own departure — as proof the organization had lost its way.

The 6-Word Bombshell to Jaire Alexander

Bakhtiari didn’t stop there.
Sources told Bleacher Report that Bakhtiari texted Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander with a six-word plea:

“Get out now. Save your career.”

Alexander, still under contract but reportedly frustrated with recent leadership decisions, now faces growing whispers about his future.

Packers’ Response: Silence

The Packers have yet to respond publicly to Bakhtiari’s explosive comments.
Internally, sources say the team remains focused on building around Jordan Love and its recent draft class — but the public relations storm is undeniable.

“Bakhtiari spoke for a lot of vets,” one anonymous former Packer told The Athletic.

Big Picture: Trouble Brewing in Titletown?

  • Green Bay fans have long prided themselves on loyalty, tradition, and respect.

  • Bakhtiari’s outburst raises real questions:

    • Can Green Bay maintain credibility with its stars?

    • Will other veterans — like Kenny Clark or Elgton Jenkins — start to eye the exit?

Bottom Line

David Bakhtiari may have left Wisconsin for the beaches of Miami,
but the storm he unleashed is only beginning in Titletown.

And if Jaire Alexander follows the same path,
the Packers’ so-called “youth movement” could come at a devastating price.
