The 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone, and now that rookie camps are on the horizon, it’s time to evaluate where teams stand. With new pieces in place and rosters more defined, some teams used the draft to plug holes, others doubled down on their strengths

If the Eagles are the team to beat, then the Chiefs are the team you never want to see in January. Kansas City comes in at No. 2 after yet another productive offseason and a draft that may have unlocked a new gear for Patrick Mahomes.
By adding Xavier Worthy — the fastest player in the draft — and signing Marquise Brown, the Chiefs addressed their most obvious weakness: speed and explosiveness at wide receiver. Rashee Rice’s off-field situation is uncertain, but this unit suddenly looks much more dangerous than it did six months ago.

Meanwhile, the offensive line remains stable, Travis Kelce is back for another run, and the defense — which carried Kansas City for stretches in 2024 — returns most of its key contributors. As long as Andy Reid is on the sideline and Mahomes is under center, the Chiefs don’t rebuild. They reload.
They may not be ranked No. 1 right now, but nobody will be surprised if they finish there when it counts.
Other contenders to watch
The Buffalo Bills land at No. 3 after a strong draft and an offseason that reaffirmed their belief in Josh Allen. San Francisco stays dangerous at No. 4, and the Baltimore Ravens round out the top five, with Lamar Jackson still one of the most electric forces in football.
All of them are playoff-caliber teams — but can any of them knock off Kansas City when it matters? History says: not yet.
