As it currently stands, the quarterback uncertainty for the Pittsburgh Steelers is continuing to take place.
While they drafted Will Howard to add to the room with Mason Rudolph, it’s not a room that inspires much confidence ahead of the season.
Howard is a rookie with no NFL experience, and Rudolph hasn’t been able to be more than a backup quarterback.

The Steelers can’t wait on Aaron Rodgers to maneuver a decision and bank on just him being their solution at the quarterback position with him being almost 42 years old.
As Mike Tomlin approaches the ending years of his coaching career before he retires he must try to go all-in on changing the team around and that also means changing the quarterback position around with a quarterback that has more upside.
For Pittsburgh, they should call the Indianapolis Colts and inquire about a trade for Anthony Richardson.
Indianapolis Colts Trade Anthony Richardson to the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Indianapolis Colts are currently in the middle of a quarterback battle between Anthony Richardson and their newly signed free agent, Daniel Jones. For the Colts, this isn’t going to be easy when it comes to them making a decision as throughout the early portions of OTAs, Daniel Jones has looked accurate and composed already in the limited practices.
After the Colts were already reportedly shopping Richardson earlier this offseason, if Jones continues to shine and Richardson struggles at all, Chris Ballard won’t hesitate to move on from him in a trade opportunity. While this trade may not happen until a few months into training camp for the Colts to truly evaluate the room, it is an opportunity the Steelers should be willing to wait for.
Richardson’s career hasn’t necessarily gone as hoped, but he was also supposed to be a developmental quarterback when he entered the NFL, and instead was thrown right into the action. Anthony Richardson has shown his potential at times which has led to him throwing for 2,391 yards and 11 touchdowns over the 15 games he has played in over his career so far. The alarming part is the 13 interceptions, but if he can be developed correctly, that should end up turning around down the line.
On the Pittsburgh Steelers, it could just end up being the best situation for him. With Arthur Smith’s scheme that heavily features the run game, pressure would be taken off Anthony Richardson as a passer. The run-heavy approach would also be beneficial as Richardson’s dual-threat ability would help with his 635 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns he has also had over his two seasons in the NFL so far. As long as Richardson can fully improve with his accuracy as a passer, his big-time throw ability and rushing ability at just 23 years old would give the Steelers hope that they can build around him for the future.
