It’s not the brother you’re all thinking.
Patrick Mahomes’ brother Jackson is not going to be the newest guy in a Kansas City Chiefs uniform.
Rather, that honor goes at rookie minicamp this weekend to Graham Walker.
Walker is Mahomes’ half brother, the son of father Patrick Sr. He signed a deal for minicamp to try to earn a training camp invite.
He played at Brown University from 2020-2023. In 2024, Walker transferred to Rice and converted from WR to TE.
The tight end had 24 catches for 252 yards with the Owls.
He’s 6-foot-3 and 215-pounds, a solid red-zone target if a bit undersized for an NFL tight end.
It’d be quite the feat if Walker made it through rookie camp and then was on the preseason field to contend for a 53-man roster spot.
The Chiefs could always use more tight ends on the roster.
Given that Travis Kelce is not holding on for too many seasons, the Chiefs will need to put together a plan for their future at the position.
K.C. also signed Clemson tight end Jake Bringingstool in undrafted free agency. Who Patrick Mahomes winds up with after Kelce is anyone’s guess.
In the meantime, the Chiefs will spend another season chasing a trip to the Super Bowl, hoping to avenge their recent defeat to the Eagles in February.
