With the NFL offseason underway, George Pickens continues to be a prime trade candidate.
Pickens has come out since the trade reports started to circulate and has said he would like to remain in Pittsburgh, but if a key trade proposal comes along, then the Steelers won’t hesitate.

For the Steelers, after trading for DK Metcalf, the team on the verge of a rebuild, and Pickens having an upcoming extension needed, this could all lead to the Steelers actually considering trading him.

One team that needs to be calling for George Pickens, is the Indianapolis Colts
THIS IS A PREDICTION, NOT A REPORT
Pittsburgh Steelers Trade George Pickens to the Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts enter a crucial 2025 NFL season in which Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard have to find a way to put everything together as they are on the hot seat. Having a quarterback battle already between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones isn’t one to instill confidence in this happening, which is why the receiving room has to be at its peak to ensure the offense stays stable this season.

The Colts’ wide receivers aren’t horrible, as it consists of Michael Pittman Jr., Adonai Mitchell, and Alec Pierce. All are good receivers, but the Colts lack having a top wide receiver for either Richardson or Jones to throw to that can help advance the offense further outside of Pittman Jr.
The lack of a dominate WR1 has limited the Colts the last few seasons, and could very well do so again this season if they don’t get that X-Factor player on the team. They already made an effort to improve the tight end position in round one by drafting Tyler Warren, now that same effort must be applied to the wide receiver position.
That is why trading for George Pickens becomes pivotal. Pickens has showcased he can be that primary receiver as he has put up 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns across four seasons so far. Pickens’ speed helps him excel in getting down the field. Adding Pickens would give either Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones another top target, and one that can also take attention off Michael Pittman Jr, Alec Pierce, or Adonai Mitchell. No matter what, Pickens brings a new element to the Colts’ offense that they have been missing.
