Tulu Griffin set to join New York Jets, sends warning to Packers after being cut

NEW YORK — Just days after being cut by the Green Bay Packers, wide receiver and return specialist Tulu Griffin isn’t wasting time looking back — but he’s making sure they remember him.

On May 5, 2025, the Packers abruptly released Griffin, a dynamic undrafted talent out of Mississippi State, raising eyebrows across the league. Now, Griffin is set to sign with the New York Jets, sources tell FanHub, giving Gang Green a speedster with serious upside and a point to prove.

And prove it he will — if his latest comments are any indication.

They’re going to regret letting me go. I promise you that,” Griffin told reporters in a brief but fiery statement. “I’m built for this league. The Jets believe in that. The Packers didn’t.”

Griffin, 5’10” and 180 pounds, was known for his explosive return ability in college, where he earned All-American and All-SEC honors in 2022. Despite signing a reserve/future contract with Green Bay in January, he never got the chance to shine. Packers GM Brian Gutekunst reportedly cited size concerns and scheme fit as the reason for the move — something Griffin now calls “laughable.”

“If size is everything, then why are the Jets giving me a shot?” he fired back. “It’s about heart, speed, and making plays. Watch what I do in New York.”

🔥 A Jet-Fueled Comeback?

The Jets, who struggled with special teams consistency in 2024, see Griffin as an immediate threat in the return game and a dark-horse weapon out of the slot. With uncertainty behind Garrett Wilson and Mecole Hardman, Griffin could carve out a role quickly, especially if he impresses in OTAs and minicamp.

Insiders say Aaron Rodgers — yes, that Aaron Rodgers — even gave a nod of approval, reportedly texting Jets GM Joe Douglas:

“He’s raw, but he’s hungry. You want guys like that.”

💥 Packers’ Misfire?

For a Packers team needing speed and playmaking with Christian Watson’s lingering injury issues, cutting Griffin now looks like a head-scratcher — especially if he thrives in New York.

Jets fans are already buzzing on X (formerly Twitter):

“Packers fumbled big time. Griffin is about to cook in green.”
“Tulu’s got that chip. I love it.”

Griffin’s journey from undrafted longshot to potential AFC East X-factor is far from over, but one thing’s certain: he’s coming for receipts. And the Packers may have just given him the motivation he needs.

Stay tuned. The revenge tour begins in New York.
