With all the trade buzz flying around during the NFL Draft, fans were expecting the Eagles to make a splash — and many had Bryce Huff pegged as a prime trade chip. But surprise: he stayed.
Why?
According to a trusted team insider, the Eagles never seriously considered moving on from Huff. Even though his start in Philly hasn’t lived up to the hype (yet), the coaching staff — especially new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio — still sees massive upside.
“He hasn’t shown everything he can do,” Fangio said. “We’re just getting started.”
Let’s not forget: the Eagles signed Huff to a three-year, $51 million deal. You don’t pay that kind of money for a rotational guy unless you believe he can wreak havoc off the edge.
Sure, there were calls. Other teams sniffed around. But Philly shut the door. Their message is clear: we believe in Huff.
Eagles fans — this isn’t the end.
This is a calculated move. With a revamped defensive scheme and the right support, Bryce Huff could go from “trade bait” to “QB nightmare” in one offseason.
Don’t count him out. Count the sacks — when they come.
This is Philly. And this is far from over.
