The Dallas Cowboys just got a massive defensive upgrade ahead of the 2025 season. Edge rusher Sam Williams is back from a torn ACL that sidelined him all of last year, and fans should be hyped.
Williams, a 2022 second-round pick, was expected to break out in 2024 before going down in training camp. Now fully recovered, he’s returning to a revamped edge unit that ESPN says is one of the league’s most improved. And with DeMarcus Lawrence gone, Dallas needs every ounce of firepower.
Joining him is Dante Fowler Jr., who notched 10.5 sacks with Washington last season, and rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku, who posted 16.5 sacks in college and went to the Cowboys in Round 2. The team also brought in DL coach Aaron Whitecotton, known for turning raw talent into real production.
Williams signed a 4-year, $6.5 million deal in 2022 and is still on the books. His return, combined with key additions, gives new head coach Brian Schottenheimer a dangerous front — and just maybe, a fighting chance to turn things around in Dallas.
Cowboys fans, buckle up. This pass rush is hungry.
