CeeDee Lamb Asserts WR1 Status in Dallas After George Pickens Trade

The Dallas Cowboys engineered one of the biggest trades of the offseason by acquiring wide receiver George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The trade is exciting for the fan base, but it has also led to many questions.

After the trade, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said that the team does not view the former Steeler as a No. 2 receiver.

“He’s just a dynamic receiver,” Jones explained.

“Everybody says we’re looking for a two. I mean, George can be a one. He’s got that type of talent. He’s got unbelievable ball-tracking ability. He’s got plenty of juice, and he’s a fiery competitor. And we love that, he plays with an edge, and we think he’d be a good fit for our team.”

Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb quickly dispelled any lingering concerns about how he’d get along with his new running mate.

“Now we both ones,” Lamb said in an interview with DLLS Sports.

“It ain’t no A, B, none of that. It’s one. You look over there, you see one. You look over here, you see another one. So do what you gotta do with that,” he warned.

The Pittsburgh Steelers traded wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. Dallas also sent a 2027 sixth-round pick to Pittsburgh.

The trade is going to put so much power in the offense of the Cowboys.

Lamb will get even more open looks now that opposing defenses won’t be able to double him as much anymore.

Will George Pickens Change For The Better?

George Pickens Blasts Pittsburgh Steelers On Instagram After Trade

The Dallas Cowboys’ passing offense will look very different this fall following George Pickens’ arrival via a blockbuster trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While Pickens’ arrival could cut into Lamb’s target share, it should also create opportunities for each to thrive in the vertical passing game.

The only question is whether Pickens will get with the program and not behave in a way that can cause issues.

There is a reason he is no longer in Pittsburgh.
