NFL analyst Dominique Foxworth just fired up Chiefs Kingdom — and not without reason. In a bold AFC West breakdown, Foxworth predicted that the Denver Broncos will sweep the Kansas City Chiefs this season and end their 9-year reign atop the division.
“Denver should’ve swept KC last season with a rookie QB if not for a blocked FG. Now, with Sean Payton and Bo Nix in Year 2, plus a top-5 ascending defense, they’re ready,” Foxworth said.
He added that Kansas City, while still great, may suffer from “fatigue or boredom” after nearly a decade of dominance — and predicted both teams finish 12–5, but Denver wins the West by sweeping a “tired” Chiefs squad.
The take isn’t completely baseless. Denver did beat KC once last season, and Sean Payton’s culture shift in Mile High is very real. Add a maturing Bo Nix and an elite young defense? The formula is dangerous.
But here’s the thing: no one in Chiefs Kingdom is backing down.
“They say we’re tired? Funny — that’s what every team says before they get steamrolled,” one fan posted on X.

This is the same Kansas City team that won back-to-back Super Bowls while losing both starting tackles, battling WR inconsistency, and facing elite defenses week after week. And they’re still loaded — with Mahomes, Kelce, Chris Jones, and a top-3 defense under Steve Spagnuolo.
Let’s not forget: Andy Reid is 30–5 vs AFC West opponents since 2018. Denver has beaten the Chiefs once in the last 17 matchups. Predicting a sweep? It’s not just bold — it’s personal.

Sure, Chiefs fans respect Denver. Bo Nix shows promise. Pat Surtain II is a lockdown corner. And Payton’s pedigree is undeniable.
But to say the champs are vulnerable? That they’ll hand over the division because of “boredom”? That’s bulletin board fuel — and you better believe Mahomes is watching.
“It’s one thing to lose focus. It’s another thing to doubt this locker room. That’s not happening,” said a veteran player anonymously in camp.
The AFC West might be tougher than ever. But the crown still sits in Kansas City — and Chiefs Kingdom plans on keeping it there.
