LOS ANGELES — Loni Anderson, the legendary “WKRP in Cincinnati” actress and lifelong Buffalo Bills superfan, has died at age 79, leaving Bills Mafia mourning not only her loss but also the deeply emotional circumstances surrounding her passing.
Anderson’s health had grown increasingly fragile in recent months, yet her passion for the Bills never faded. In late July, she insisted on attending Bills training camp, defying her doctors’ advice and her family’s concern. Her devotion to the red, white, and blue was so profound that she braved the heat and crowds, determined to cheer on her beloved Bills one last time.
Tragically, Anderson’s condition worsened following her training camp visit. Surrounded by her family, she passed away in Los Angeles on August 3, 2025. “We are devastated to share the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother,” her family said, calling her final days a powerful testament to her enduring spirit and unwavering love for the Bills.
For decades, Anderson was celebrated as one of the most dedicated Bills fans. Even in her seventies, she never missed a game or event, rain or shine, sharing every heartbreak and every legendary comeback. “The Bills’ resilience stole my heart,” she often said, celebrating everything from the K-Gun era to the magic of Josh Allen and the team’s relentless playoff quests.

Her final act — risking her health for just one more memory with the Bills — has touched fans everywhere. Many have said her decision to attend training camp despite her illness perfectly embodies what it means to be part of Bills Mafia: fierce loyalty, endless passion, and love that endures a lifetime.
A Hollywood star and a true Bills legend, Anderson’s warmth, humor, and red-white-and-blue pride inspired everyone around her. “My grandkids will know I was a sex symbol and a diehard fan!” she once joked, leaving a legacy of both laughter and loyalty.
Manager Steve Sauer remembered her as “a class act — beautiful, talented, and a Bills diehard to her last day.” The fact that her passing was so closely connected to her love for the Bills makes this loss even more poignant for fans everywhere.
Private services will be held at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, followed by a Bills-themed Celebration of Life. As Bills Mafia mourns, Anderson’s memory and her unbreakable spirit will live on in Buffalo and beyond. Stay tuned to ESPN for updates.
