Josh Allen and the Bills are set for one final tune-up in their preseason finale against the Bears on Friday evening.
Allen played just one drive in Buffalo’s preseason opener, but he sat out last weekend’s contest in favor of backup Kyle Allen. Coach Sean McDermott clarified earlier this week that Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills starters will indeed suit up Friday.
On the other sideline, the Bears will follow the same script, with second-year pro Caleb Williams set for his second appearance of the preseason. Last year’s No. 1 overall pick threw for 107 yards and a touchdown last weekend against the Bills’ division rival Dolphins.
This will be a stiffer test for Williams, on the road against a Buffalo defense expected to play most of its starters. Williams is also still adjusting to a new offensive system implemented by first-year head coach Ben Johnson, formerly the Lions offensive coordinator.
