Chiefs’ Local Pro Day: Four Future Stars to Watch

Chiefs Kingdom, get ready—our team just wrapped up their Local Pro Day on April 7, 2025, showcasing 53 prospects from the Midwest’s college ranks. After a 15-2 season that ended with a heartbreaking Super Bowl LIX loss, Brett Veach and Andy Reid are back at it, hunting for hidden gems to keep our dynasty rolling. With Kareem Hunt, Nick Bolton, and Justin Reid hitting free agency, we’ve got holes to fill. Here’s a look at four standouts who could step up as undrafted free agents (UDFAs) and make a difference.

First up, Devin Neal from Kansas. Our running back room needs depth behind Isiah Pacheco, especially with Hunt potentially gone. Neal’s 1,280 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2024 scream power and speed—think Pacheco 2.0. He’s not a polished receiver yet, but his vision and burst could spell relief for Pacheco’s workload. Imagine him pounding the rock in those clutch fourth-quarter drives.

Next, Luther Burden III from Missouri. Our wide receiver corps took a hit with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquise Brown testing free agency. Burden, a 5’11” speedster with a 4.38-second 40, hauled in 48 catches for 674 yards in 2023. He’s got the quickness to stretch defenses, giving Patrick Mahomes another weapon. Sure, he’s not the biggest, but his route-running could make him a steal if he slips past the draft.

On the offensive line, Marcus Bryant from Missouri looks promising. With Joe Thuney traded and D.J. Humphries’ future uncertain, we need linemen to protect Mahomes. Bryant’s 6’6”, 315-pound frame and 900 snaps at left tackle show he’s battle-tested. He’s not the quickest, but his strength and versatility—tackle or guard—make him a solid backup with starter potential.

Finally, Jacob Parrish from Kansas State could bolster our secondary. Losing Justin Reid exposed depth issues, and Parrish’s four picks and 38 tackles in 2024 signal playmaking ability. His 4.45 speed fits Steve Spagnuolo’s aggressive schemes, whether at CB3 or nickel. He’ll need to bulk up, but his instincts could shine in camp.

These local talents echo past Pro Day successes like Felix Anudike-Uzomah. With 10 draft picks and cap space, Veach might snag one—or all—as UDFAs. Chiefs fans, the future’s bright—let’s keep the dynasty alive!
