A tragic shooting unfolded Wednesday morning at a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, leaving multiple people shot and at least one dead, according to law enforcement officials.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. “Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities,” Noem posted on X, adding that the motive remains under investigation.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told CNN that three people were shot and taken to a hospital, though their identities have not been released. “Preliminary information is a possible sniper,” Lyons said. “We have three individuals down. Their conditions are unknown at this time.”

The ICE facility houses employees, civilians, and immigrant detainees.

This marks at least the third attack on an ICE or CBP facility in Texas this year. On July 4, an assault at the Prairieland Detention Center near Fort Worth left a police officer shot in the neck. Days later, a man opened fire on a Border Patrol facility in McAllen before being killed by police.

Amid the chaos, Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman revealed his deep concern for his older brother, who works at the Dallas ICE facility. According to sources close to Coleman, he has not been able to contact his brother since the incident. “He’s shaken and desperate for updates,” one team insider said. The Bills organization has offered support as Coleman anxiously awaits word from his family.

The story is still developing, with federal and local authorities working to determine the shooter’s motive and provide updates on the victims’ conditions.
