Graham Walker played this past weekend at the Chiefs rookie minicamp to try and earn a longer-lasting NFL contract.
But the half-brother of Patrick Mahomes appears to have missed out on any kind of deal.
One report indicates Walker will now look for his chance at minicamp with the Jaguars, although lots can still change in the world of preseason gatherings and offseason transactions.
Walker is Mahomes’ half brother, the son of father Patrick Sr. He signed a deal for minicamp to try to earn a training camp invite.
He played at Brown University from 2020-2023. In 2024, Walker transferred to Rice and converted from WR to TE.
The tight end had 24 catches for 252 yards with the Owls.
He’s 6-foot-3 and 215-pounds, a solid red-zone target if a bit undersized for an NFL tight end.
The Chiefs have plenty of tight end depth with Travis Kelce and Noah Gray leading the charge.
Kansas City also dipped into the undrafted free agent pool to give a contract to a more prominent rookie tight end in Clemson’s Jake Briningstool.
Walker might stick around, in part due to his Mahomes relation. But where he eventually lands in what’ll have to be a hard-working NFL career remains to be seen.
