Philadelphia, PA – April 16, 2025
Philadelphia Eagles are calling in reinforcements — and this time, it’s a blast from the past. Team legend and fan favorite Brandon Graham is coming out of retirement to rejoin the Birds on a one-year, $4 million deal, team sources confirmed late Tuesday.
Graham, who officially retired in February 2025 after 14 seasons and a Super Bowl ring in 2017, is stepping back into the trenches following season-ending injuries to both Jalen Carter and Milton Williams during offseason workouts.
“It’s never easy walking away,” Graham told reporters.
“But when your team calls, and the city you love needs you — you suit up.”
🦅 A Legacy Reignited
Originally drafted 13th overall in 2010, Graham became the heartbeat of the Eagles defense, amassing:
-
73 career sacks,
-
141 tackles for loss,
-
and the most iconic strip sack in franchise history — vs. Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII.
Even in limited snaps in 2024, he logged 5.5 sacks and 18 pressures, showing that at 37, he still had gas in the tank.
Now, he’s expected to rotate in as a situational pass rusher behind Josh Sweat and Haason Reddick — who’s also nursing a hamstring injury.
🗣️ Philly Reacts: “One More Time, B.G.”
Eagles fans flooded X with love:
“Brandon Graham walking through that tunnel again? Goosebumps.”
“Give him a captain’s patch and one more playoff run!”
The Birds are eyeing another deep postseason push, and Graham’s leadership and physicality could be the spark this defense needs.
🧠 Smart Risk, Massive Emotional Win
Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio approved the move immediately, noting Graham’s intimate knowledge of the scheme and locker room:
“He’s not just a player — he’s part of the soul of this team.”
With Carter out and rookies still adjusting, the Eagles needed a reliable veteran. At $4M with incentives, Graham brings stability, passion, and championship pedigree back to the Linc.
“One more ride. One more roar. The legend returns.”
