Eagles predicted to ship TE Dallas Goedert to Colts for 6’5, 318-pound guard

The 2025 NFL Draft is now just weeks away, and the trade winds continue to swirl around tight end Dallas Goedert and his future with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Goedert gutted out another injury-plagued season and just turned 30 in January. His contract will void in 2026, which escalates his 2025 salary cap hit to around $11.7 million. For an Eagles team in full cost-cutting mode to start the new league year, the two most likely outcomes for Goedert is either a trade or contract extension.

The latter continues to be the front-runner, per Eagles insider Anthony DiBona. He believes Goedert will be traded for a Day 3 draft pick, and recently predicted a deal between the Eagles and Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round.

Philly’s target? Georgia Bulldogs offensive guard Dylan Fairchild, who was among the team’s reported top-30 visits this month. Here was DiBona’s take on the proposed trade:

After adding several former Georgia Bulldogs on the defense in recent years, Philadelphia finally adds one on offense. Dylan Fairchild started games at both left guard and right guard for the Bulldogs over the last two seasons. At 6’5”, 318 lbs. with 33” arms, Fairchild has the size that Jeff Stoutland looks for along the interior of the offensive line and would potentially compete for the starting job at right guard in 2025.

The Eagles have a need at right guard after choosing to let 2024 starter Mekhi Becton walk in free agency, They do have a stable of capable players in reserve, including Tyler Steen, Trevor Keegan and the recently-acquired Kenyon Green, but adding competition to the mix feels like a priority in the draft.

Fairchild is a massive human, with similar size and length to Becton. He scored an elite pass blocking grade of 87.0 from PFF in 2024, allowing just one sack in 536 reps. His work in the run game could use some polishing at the next level, but Philadelphia is the perfect landing spot for him to get coached up in that area.

The writing appears to be on the wall for Goedert, as the team brass has been political in response to questions about his future this offseason. Philly also bulked up its tight end room by signing both Harrison Bryant and Kylen Granson in free agency.

Becton was a mauler in the run game last season but was less dominant in pass protection. A prospect with Fairchild’s size, production and upside would be a reasonable target for the team early on Day 3 of the draft.
