The Dallas Cowboys added a new weapon to their offense in George Pickens. However, one of their former receivers could end up signing with one of their rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Dallas Cowboys traded a first-round pick to acquire Amari Cooper in 2018. Cooper had 3,893 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns with the Cowboys. However, the team traded him to the Cleveland Browns for two Day 3 NFL Draft picks. The Cowboys used those picks on Matt Waletzko and Devin Harper.
Cooper went on to be a Pro Bowler in 2023, but the Browns traded him to the Buffalo Bills last year. Now, he is a free agent and could finally get his revenge on the Cowboys for trading him away in 2022. ClutchPoints’ Enzo Flojo tabbed the Eagles as a potential landing spot for the veteran receiver.

“The Eagles are looking for more than just a name. They need production,” wrote Flojo. “Cooper can provide just that. He will not stretch the field the way he once did. Still, he wins on intermediate routes and offers a reliable option on third down. In a high-volume offense that spreads the ball around, Cooper could carve out a meaningful role. This is especially true if (Jahan) Dotson continues to struggle.”
Cooper is a veteran receiver with five Pro Bowl selections to his name. Spotrac projects him to sign a two-year, $37 million deal, but in reality, he could sign a much cheaper deal this late into the offseason.
Cooper would get the opportunity to play the Cowboys twice a year as a member of the Eagles. Additionally, being the No. 3 option could mean some softer coverage and easy opportunities for him to produce.
