Philadelphia, PA – April 14, 2025
Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman is targeting a reunion with veteran free agent cornerback Rasul Douglas to bolster the team’s secondary depth.
Douglas, 34, who played for the Eagles from 2017 to 2019, is a free agent after a 2024 season in which he recorded:
-
3 interceptions
-
7 pass breakups
while playing for the Buffalo Bills.
The Eagles’ secondary has thinned out after losing Darius Slay and C.J. Gardner-Johnson, leaving Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean as the primary starters.
Roseman — known for savvy veteran signings like Ndamukong Suh in 2022 — views Douglas as a cost-effective leader who can guide younger cornerbacks.

Douglas earned a 71.0 PFF coverage grade in 2024, bringing experience from 92 career games, making him a reliable CB2 option in Vic Fangio’s system.
The proposed deal is a one-year contract worth $1.9 million, fitting neatly within the Eagles’ current cap space of $18.125 million, as the front office focuses on upcoming extensions for Jalen Carter and Quinyon Mitchell.
Douglas’ familiarity with the Eagles’ locker room culture and his Super Bowl LII ring makes him a seamless fit for another championship run.
The move would solidify the defense ahead of difficult 2025 road games against the Lions and Bills, helping ensure the Eagles stay competitive post-Super Bowl LIX.
