Second-year cornerback Kelee Ringo is no longer flying under the radar. After a quiet rookie campaign, Ringo is turning heads at Eagles minicamp — and head coach Nick Sirianni has taken notice.
“He’s made a big jump. He’s playing with confidence, and that’s what we want to see,” Sirianni said after practice Tuesday.

Ringo on the Rise
Drafted in the 4th round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Ringo entered the league as a raw but athletic prospect from Georgia. While he spent much of last season learning behind veterans like Darius Slay and James Bradberry, Ringo has clearly come into 2025 with a point to prove.
At this week’s minicamp, Ringo:
-
Locked down multiple reps against second-string receivers
-
Disrupted several short routes with strong press coverage
-
Showed increased awareness in zone drops — a key point of improvement
“He’s processing faster. He’s not guessing — he’s anticipating,” said Eagles DB coach D.K. McDonald.

CB1 Still Up for Grabs?
The Eagles have one of the deepest secondaries in the league on paper, especially after drafting Quinyon Mitchell in the first round this year and signing Isaiah Rodgers. But with Bradberry’s role uncertain and Avonte Maddox still recovering from injury, the starting cornerback spots aren’t locked in.
Sirianni didn’t commit to a specific depth chart but confirmed that Ringo is firmly in the mix.
“We want competition. That’s when we get the best version of our players,” he said.
It’s now likely that Ringo could push for:
-
CB2 opposite Darius Slay
-
Or a rotational role at nickel or dime packages
Veteran Praise and Fan Excitement

Ringo’s physicality and energy haven’t just impressed the coaches — veterans are taking note too. One anonymous Eagles defender was quoted saying:
“He’s not the same rookie. He’s hungry now.”
On social media, fans are already buzzing:
“Don’t sleep on Ringo. He might start Week 1.”
“Our secondary is about to be scary.”
While much of the offseason buzz has centered on new faces like Quinyon Mitchell, Jihaad Campbell, and Saquon Barkley, Kelee Ringo is reminding everyone that sometimes, the biggest jumps happen between Years 1 and 2.
If he keeps this up, the Eagles may have a breakout CB hiding in plain sight — and a very interesting decision to make come training camp.
