Green Bay, WI – May 6, 2025
The Green Bay Packers just sent a thunderous message to the rest of the NFC: they’re done being pushed around.
In a bold move aimed at shoring up the defensive line for a deep playoff run, the Packers have agreed to terms with star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins on a three-year, $36 million deal, league sources told NFL Network. The former Raider and Dolphin brings immediate firepower to a defensive front that struggled to stop the run and collapse pockets in 2024.

“Wilkins is a tone-setter,” GM Brian Gutekunst said. “He brings energy, leadership, and pure disruption.”
And he brings production:
-
9 sacks,
-
65 total tackles,
-
12 tackles for loss,
-
and a PFF grade of 82.4 in 2024 – ranking him among the NFL’s top interior defenders.
Green Bay’s defense badly needed this injection of nastiness. The team finished 28th in rushing yards allowed and gave up multiple 150+ yard games to divisional rivals. With Wilkins lining up next to Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt, the Packers now boast one of the most intimidating interiors in the NFC.
Last year, Wilkins terrorized offensive lines, posting 20 QB hits and proving nearly unblockable on stunts and bull rushes. With his versatility, he’ll not only anchor the run defense but also bring extra heat on third downs — something Green Bay lacked in its playoff collapse vs. San Francisco.
Off the field? He’s all fire and charisma. On it? He’s a menace. The perfect piece for a young defense that’s starting to bite.
“You give Jordan Love a defense that can get him the ball back,” said NFL analyst Bucky Brooks, “and the Packers suddenly look like a top-three threat in the NFC.”
Wilkins joins a rising squad that’s fully bought in to Matt LaFleur’s vision. With Jordan Love ascending, a loaded draft class, and now a defensive anchor in place, Green Bay isn’t just building for the future — they’re coming for it.
Watch out, NFC. The Packers aren’t just playing for January. They’re building for February.
