Buffalo Bills fans, mark your calendars-East Avenue is turning red, white, and blue on September 14.
From noon to 4 p.m., a two-block stretch of East Avenue in Rochester (between Alexander and Lawrence Streets) will shut down and transform into a full-blown Bills block party. It’s the kind of event that blends game-day energy with backyard BBQ vibes, and it’s all about celebrating the Bills-and the community that rides with them.
The party kicks off at noon with DJ Naps from Breakthrough Entertainment setting the tone. Then, at 1 p.m., all eyes turn to the big screens-two massive 144-square-foot outdoor displays with full sound-where fans can watch the Bills square off against the New York Jets.
And if you’re not ready to head home after that? No worries.
The 4 p.m. NFL games will be broadcast too, keeping the football flowing all afternoon.
This isn’t just a watch party-it’s a full-on street festival. Expect food trucks, local vendors selling Bills gear and more, plus beverage trucks pouring Kona and Bud Light. Some of East Avenue’s staples-Murphy’s Law, Recreo, Fools Gold, Locals Only, Studio Lounge and Filgers-will all be open and part of the action.
The event is hosted by the East & Alex Association, a nonprofit focused on improving the East Avenue and Alexander Street area. And while it’s a celebration, it’s also a chance to give back: $1 from every ticket sold will support the Pirate Toy Fund, which helps provide toys for kids in need.
Tickets are $5 if you grab them early, or $12 at the door. Kids 12 and under get in free.
You can enter the event from either East & Alexander or East & Lawrence. For more details or to snag your tickets in advance, head to eastandalex.com.
Bills Mafia knows how to bring the energy-and this block party is shaping up to be another chance to show what that passion looks like off the field.
