Patrick Mahomes Supports Skyy Moore for Embracing His Truth: “Proud of Him”

The Kansas City Chiefs are known for their championship pedigree, but over the weekend, they reminded the world that strength also comes from standing up for who you are.

Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes publicly voiced his support for wide receiver Skyy Moore, following Moore’s viral Pride Month post that featured a photo with another man, captioned “Lover 🧿.” The post, interpreted by many fans as a soft coming-out moment, sent ripples through NFL social media — and now, it’s received a stamp of solidarity from the face of the franchise.

“Skyy’s always been real. That’s what I respect the most. It takes courage to live your truth, and I’m proud of him,” Mahomes told reporters during OTAs on Monday.

The show of support comes at a powerful moment. Moore’s post — tender, unannounced, and quietly revolutionary — marked what could be a historic turning point: the first active Chiefs player to publicly express a same-sex relationship.

While Moore hasn’t confirmed anything explicitly, his post during Pride Month has been widely celebrated by fans and LGBTQ+ advocates alike. But what turned admiration into momentum was Mahomes stepping in, not just as a teammate, but as a leader.

“There’s no locker room like ours,” Mahomes added. “We lift each other up. That’s how we win — on and off the field.”

This isn’t the first time Mahomes has used his voice to champion inclusion. In past interviews, he’s spoken about supporting teammates regardless of background, orientation, or identity — something he now continues with full intent.

NFL players around the league chimed in too. Several Chiefs players reposted Moore’s photo with hearts and supportive messages. Meanwhile, LGBTQ+ organizations have praised both Moore for his vulnerability and Mahomes for using his platform to normalize authenticity.

“When your QB stands beside you like that — that’s not just football. That’s family,” wrote one fan on Twitter.

Skyy Moore has yet to make a formal statement beyond the original post, but his message landed. And with Mahomes, one of the league’s most respected voices, standing behind him, that message just got a lot louder.

As the 2025 season approaches, Chiefs fans aren’t just rallying around Super Bowl dreams — they’re standing behind something bigger: a team culture that champions honesty, unity, and above all, the power of being true to yourself.
