Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley is getting ripped to shreds this week for attending the team’s Super Bowl ceremony at the White House.

Showing up to the White House after a Super Bowl victory has been a tradition for quite a long time. However, some people thought the Eagles should turn down an invitation due to all the controversy surrounding President Donald Trump’s term.
Not only was Barkley spotted getting off Marine One with President Trump, he played a round of golf with him. His actions didn’t sit well with the public. Countless fans called him a sellout and some even questioned his morals.

Barkley fired back at his critics on Monday, explaining why he spent time with the president of the United States.
“Lol some people are really upset cause I played golf and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT,” Barkley wrote on social media. “Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump ! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day.”

That statement from Barkley didn’t fly with actor and comedian D.L. Hughley.
During an interview with TMZ this week, Hughley called out Barkley for going to the White House. He even made a reference to the All-Pro running back’s fiancée, Anna Congdon.
“They seem to be indifferent about what is happening to Black people,” Hughley said. “Those kind of men and women show up for these events. I’m not shocked he dated a white girl who threw a slur around. He looks like the kind of guy who would do it. The kind of guy who would do that wouldn’t care about Black people.”
Well then.
Barkley hasn’t responded to Hughley’s comments. At this point, he’s probably better off letting this situation cool down.
