āHeās about the right stuff. He cares about it enough to watch the film and put in the time and take notes and ask questions and come over and sit next to me during the week at various times to try and get on the same page⦠thatās unfortunately not the standard around the league,ā Rogers said, per ESPNās Brooke Pryor.
Aaron Rodgers praises DK Metcalf after Week 1 win

Metcalfās approach reminds the 41-year-old passer of the receivers he worked with while a member of the Green Bay Packers.
āThat was [the standard] a lot of times in Green Bay, because those guys kinda saw what it was like with Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb and James Jones. And Davante got to watch that, and he was the next guy in line⦠When youāre lead dog in the room, heās also a great guy and prepares the right way, it makes it easy for the rest of the room to just follow his lead,ā Rodgers added.
Metcalf was aĀ big reason why Rodgers signed with the Steelers. Pittsburgh landed the wideout in a trade with the Seahawks in March and then signed him to a $150 million extension. The seventh-year pro is Rodgersā clear-cut WR1. However, he wasnāt invited to the touchdown party in Week 1.
Metcalf finished the game with four receptions for 83 yards. But he didnāt catch any of Rodgersā four touchdown passes in the opener. The 21st-year passer became theĀ first Steelers QB to throw for four scoresĀ since 2020.
The Jetsā strong secondary held Metcalf mostly in check during their Week 1 matchup. But the wideout would likely prefer to snag his first TD of 2025 against his former team in Week 2.
