Kansas City, MO — What started as a routine pass-rush drill exploded into chaos when two of the Chiefs’ top rookies — offensive tackle Josh Simmons and edge rusher Ashton Gillottedropped the gloves and went at it in front of stunned teammates and coaches.

Witnesses say the two had been jawing all morning, but tensions hit a boiling point after a particularly aggressive rep. Gillotte shoved Simmons post-whistle, and Simmons didn’t back down. Helmets flew. Words were exchanged. Fists may have followed.

😳 Coaches Intervened Fast — But Damage Was Done

Andy Reid and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo reportedly separated the two before things got worse, but not before the entire offensive and defensive lines circled up, ready to throw down.

An assistant coach was overheard saying, “We love fire, but it’s gotta be controlled.”

🔥 Setting the Tone or Crossing the Line?

Some insiders say this is exactly the kind of edge Kansas City wants from its rookies — passion, aggression, grit. Others worry it’s a sign of discipline issues early in camp.

Fans have taken to social media, with some calling it “iron sharpening iron,” while others are concerned the locker room might be too hot too soon.

📉 What’s Next?

No official fines or suspensions have been reported — yet. But both players are expected to address the media later this week.

One thing’s for sure: the fight for roster spots just got very, very real.
