LOS ANGELES — Loni Anderson, beloved “WKRP in Cincinnati” actress and lifelong Green Bay Packers superfan, has died at age 79, leaving Packers Nation mourning not only her loss but the emotional circumstances that surrounded her final days.
Anderson’s health had grown increasingly fragile in recent months, yet her devotion to the Packers never faded. In late July, she insisted on attending Packers training camp, despite her doctors’ warnings and her family’s concern. Her love for the green and gold was so powerful that she braved the Wisconsin summer, determined to support her team in person one last time.
Tragically, Anderson’s condition worsened after her visit to training camp. Surrounded by family, she passed away in Los Angeles on August 3, 2025. “We are devastated to share the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother,” her family said, describing her final days as a moving testament to her enduring spirit and passion for the Packers.
For decades, Anderson was known as one of the Packers’ most dedicated fans. Even into her seventies, she never missed a game or a Lambeau event, cheering through every heartbreak and every championship moment. “The Packers’ resilience stole my heart,” she often said, celebrating everything from Bart Starr’s era to Aaron Rodgers’ MVP runs.

Her last act — risking her health for one more Packers memory — has deeply touched Cheeseheads everywhere. Many say her determination to attend training camp, even while ill, is the perfect embodiment of Packers fandom: loyalty, grit, and unwavering love for the team.
A Hollywood legend and a cherished member of Packers Nation, Anderson’s warmth, wit, and green-and-gold spirit inspired friends and fans alike. “My grandkids will know I was a sex symbol and a diehard fan!” she once joked, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and devotion.
Manager Steve Sauer remembered her as “a class act — beautiful, talented, and a Packers diehard to her last day.” That her passing was so closely tied to her love for Green Bay makes this loss especially poignant for fans everywhere.
Private services will be held at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, followed by a Packers-themed Celebration of Life. As Packers Nation mourns, Anderson’s memory and spirit will live on from Lambeau to
