Aiyuk revealed that his father raised him and his brother alone after a devastating family setback during his high school years. A serious work accident forced his dad to retire from his construction job in Reno, Nevada. “My mom left when my dad had that accident,” Aiyuk said. “Since then, my father has been both strict and nurturing. He taught me how to be a man but also how to be kind. I love him so much.”

“He gave me the freedom to choose my own path,” Aiyuk recalled. “But he also reminded me to stay humble — to never act like I was bigger than the game.”
Since being drafted by the 49ers in 2020, Aiyuk has become one of the NFL’s most explosive receivers, helping San Francisco reach multiple NFC Championship Games and contend for Super Bowls. Yet behind every catch and milestone, he says, is the influence of his father.
“Everything I do is for him — he gave me everything,” Aiyuk said.
That perspective is driving his 2025 season. After a steady start in Weeks 1 and 2, Aiyuk delivered a breakout performance in Week 3 against the Cardinals with seven receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown to spark a comeback victory. Through three games, he has 15 catches for 201 yards and two scores, reaffirming his role as Brock Purdy’s top target.
