Jimmy Kimmel Is Officially Done After Making Joke About Charlie Kirk’s Death On TV [VIDEO]

Jimmy Kimmel: Republicans 'working very hard to capitalize' on Charlie Kirk's killing | Late-night TV roundup | The Guardian

Jimmy Kimmel has told his last joke on late-night television after he brought up Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was fatally shot on Wednesday during a rally he was hosting at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

The reaction to him online has been one of praise and disrespect. Many people across the country have lost their jobs because of it.

Now, Kimmel is finding out why he should’ve stayed quiet.

ABC has pulled late-night host Jimmy Kimmel off the air indefinitely over comments he made about the shooting of the right-wing influencer.

On Monday night’s monologue, Kimmel said the “MAGA gang” was only trying to score political points off Charlie Kirk’s murder.

Nexstar Media said it would not air Jimmy Kimmel Live! “for the foreseeable future, beginning with tonight’s show.”

Nexstar further added on Wednesday that the comedian’s remarks about Kirk “are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse.”

“[W]e do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities in which we are located,” said Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division.

“Continuing to give Mr Kimmel a broadcast platform in the communities we serve is simply not in the public interest at the current time, and we have made the difficult decision to preempt his show in an effort to let cooler heads prevail as we move toward the resumption of respectful, constructive dialogue.”

Wednesday also marked one week since Kirk was shot and killed.

Over the summer, Trump frequently posted on his Truth Social that Jimmy Kimmel Live would be the next late-night show to be canceled.

Kimmel has frequently mocked him, even calling him jealous over taking shots at Taylor Swift.

Not even Trump could’ve seen the death of Charlie Kirk getting Kimmel fired months later.

For what it is worth, Jimmy Kimmel did speak out following the shooting death of the conservative activist.

“Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human?” Kimmel wrote on Instagram. “On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents, and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.”
