A tragic shooting broke out Wednesday morning at a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, leaving multiple people shot and at least one dead, according to law enforcement sources.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. “Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities,” Noem posted on X, adding that the motive remains under investigation.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told CNN that three people were shot and sent to a hospital, though their identities have not been released. “Preliminary information is a possible sniper,” Lyons said. “We have three individuals down. Their conditions are unknown at this time.”

The ICE facility houses employees, civilians, and detainees.

This marks at least the third attack on an ICE or CBP facility in Texas this year. On July 4, an attack at the Prairieland Detention Center near Fort Worth left a police officer shot. Days later, a man opened fire on a Border Patrol facility in McAllen before being killed by law enforcement.

Amid the chaos, Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Savion Williams revealed deep concern for his older brother, who works at the Dallas ICE facility. According to sources close to Williams, he has not been able to contact his brother since the incident. “He’s shaken and desperate for updates,” one team insider said. The Packers organization has offered support as Williams waits anxiously for word from his family.

The story remains developing, with federal and local authorities investigating motive and providing updates on the victims’ conditions.
