Roger Goodell Confirms Taylor Swift’s Super Bowl Halftime Invitation Has No Expiration

NFL Commissioner Goodell: We will encourage players to stand

The NFL has made plenty of bold halftime show bookings in its history, but commissioner Roger Goodell has now confirmed that one potential act sits above all others — and the invitation will never run out.

Speaking with reporters, Goodell revealed that global superstar Taylor Swift holds a standing offer to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show whenever she chooses. “The invitation for Taylor Swift to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show has no expiration date,” Goodell said. “She’s one of the greatest performers in the world, and whenever she’s ready, the stage will be hers.”

For years, speculation around Swift and the Super Bowl has dominated both sports and entertainment circles. Her unparalleled global reach, combined with her NFL ties in recent seasons, has made her name a constant in fan wish lists for the halftime slot.

Goodell’s remarks only fuel that anticipation, essentially confirming that the league sees Swift as a dream headliner — not just for one year, but for any year she decides the timing is right.

The timing, however, has been the main hurdle. Swift’s ongoing tours and recording commitments have so far kept her from committing to a halftime show, even as fan campaigns trend every season. Yet with Goodell making clear that the door will always be open, the NFL appears willing to wait indefinitely.

From Michael Jackson to Beyoncé, the Super Bowl stage has long been home to the most iconic performances in music. Adding Taylor Swift to that list would be among the most anticipated moments in the event’s history.

Until then, the invitation remains untouched — a reminder that the NFL is ready, and that whenever Swift says yes, the world will be watching.
