Patriots Strike Big: Snagging the ‘King of Catches’ from the Bears!

It is clear that despite signing Stefon Diggs, who has already been involved in off-field distractions before training camp starts, and drafting Kyle Williams, that the New England Patriots are still looking to add to their wide receiver room.

Before Rashod Bateman ended up signing his extension with the Baltimore Ravens, it was reported that the Patriots were a team that reached out to inquire about a trade for the wide receiver. Understandably so, as Williams is just a rookie, and the starting trio currently for New England is Diggs, Mack Hollins, and Demario Douglas. Kayshon Boutte, Javon Baker, and Ja’Lynn Polk are rising stars that could snag a starting role, but the room as a whole is inexperienced.

The Patriots need to make sure Drake Maye develops correctly, and can’t bank on just the potential of the wide receivers. New England needs more proven talent, and they can make sure they round out the room by trading for DJ Moore.

Chicago Bears Trade DJ Moore to the New England Patriots

The Chicago Bears are entering a new era with Ben Johnson now as their head coach, and with that it appears that changes are coming to the offensive side of the ball. It has been talked about early on that Johnson is going to heavily utilize two tight ends on the field more, hence why they ended up drafting Colston Loveland to pair with Cole Kmet. That being said, changes will also be happening at the wide receiver position.

Rome Odunze is entering just his second year in the NFL, and the Bears also just drafted Luther Burden. Between them, and getting the tight ends involved, it is going to be hard to also keep DJ Moore satisfied with targets. With Moore he will want to be heavily involved, and with that not looking to be the case, it would be wise for Chicago to avoid that issue before it starts, and trade Moore to the Patriots.

DJ Moore defends Caleb Williams amid Bears' struggles

DJ Moore has shown he is still an effective receiver, as just last season he put up 966 yards and six touchdowns. Moore has experience, so he would be able to be automatically plugged into the Patriots offense and start contributing right away, which would help in advancing Maye’s passing skills.

With the Patriots still needing as much wide receiver help as they can get, DJ Moore would get his share of targets, and be a key contributor for the Patriots offense.
